Habits for Longer Life
By beverly | Posted in lifestyle, News, Nutrition | March 15th, 2009At the beginning of the 20th century, the life expectancy for men and women was about 48 years. By 1950, the average life expectancy jumped to 71 years for women, 66 for men. Today, women are expected to live to 80, men to 75.
Longer life span can be attributed to better nutrition, healthcare, disease prevention and treatment, but it's hard to believe that this trend of living longer will continue. In the United States, roughly 2/3 of the population is overweight and nearly 30% is considered clinically obese (including children).
