Eating Healthy :: Inclusion vs. Exclusion
By definition, eating healthy means that you include the recommended 5 - 7 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. A new Gallop Healthways Well-Being Index report shows how people in a number of demographics are adhering to these recommendations.
I think it's interesting to learn that people think they eat healthy if they avoid certain foods. 66% of the respondents to the poll claimed that they ate healthy, while only in fact a smaller percentage actually said that they ate 5 or more servings of fruits and vegetables on at least 3 of the past 7 days.
Here's the breakdown:
Women 60%
Men 48%
Seniors were the only category that seem to eat healthy. 68% of people 65 and older ate the recommended servings. Guess they have more time to count.
